Leading Ladies

Hello everyone! Today’s post is dedicated to the people who have inspired me over the years, and since it’s Mother’s Day today and International Women’s Day this Tuesday (March 8th), I thought I would devote this to the top 3 women who have inspired me!
MY MUM, OR AS I CALL HER, MOTHER REES.

(FYI – she hates this photo)
My mum is obviously going to be my first source of inspiration, but that’s not just because she’s my mother! But you know, as mothers do, she always knows when something isn’t right, and I know I can always talk to her about anything.
People always say I’m like my mum, and I used to cringe at that, but now I think I’d take it as a compliment because my mum is a strong, caring, kind, and a little bit funny woman. I can always rely on her for an honest opinion too – even if she doesn’t really know what I’m on about sometimes.
I look to my mum for makeup and style inspiration too. When it comes to fashion, she will only wear things that she’s comfortable wearing, she keeps up with what’s fashionable and adjusts it to suit her style. And with makeup she knows the colours that complement her and sticks with it.

My mum might be an obvious source of inspiration because she’s always been in my life but if I knew her as someone other than my mother, she would still inspire me.

This woman amazes me. I didn’t really know how much trouble she went through to get her book published until I went to the Warner Bros Studio Tour (absolutely amazing btw) and they told us about her backstory; but it taught me about how a bit of hard word, determination, and belief can go a long long way.

She inspired me through her writing too – some of the quotes throughout the Harry Potter series have stuck with me since the moment I read or heard them. I remember them during the good times and the bad times, and they really do help me.
LUCY JANE WOOD

The realest YouTuber I've ever watched! I've struggled with my weight and how I see myself for so many years it's just become the norm for me. But after watching Lucy's videos and following her on Instagram, I've started becoming more comfortable in my own skin. She talks about the "average girl size" or "midsize fashion" and it helps so much to see someone with a similar body size to mine!

And just like the rest of us she has her days where she doesn't feel body confident and she shares it so we know we're not alone. Plus she's a fellow Harry Potter geek. But honestly, if you're looking for a new YouTuber to watch, I 100% recommend watching her videos!
